The Historical Timeline of Wistex

• JULY 1, 1974

  Wistex was created

  Original owners from Wisconsin and Texas joined forces to create Wistex, a company specializing in the marketing and sale of electrical products

  Wistex’s First location:

  • 216 Goddard Blvd, King of Prussia, Pa 19406

• APRIL 1976

  Future owner Stephen W. Crognale Sr. joined Wistex as a component and process control salesman.

  Stephen’s original territory included Philadelphia County, Delaware County and Montgomery County

  • Wistex’s Second Location:

  • Product lines sold included many of which Wistex still sells today!
    • B/W Controls, Inc. – Liquid Level Controls
    • Cincinnati Milacron – Programmable Controllers

    • IVO Industries, Inc. – Counters
    • Opcon, Inc. - Pulsed Led Photoelectric Controls
    • Opto-Mech, Inc. – Programmable Limit Switches
    • Polyspede Electronics, Inc. – DC Adjustable Speed Drives
    • Rees, Inc. – Pushbuttons and Switches
    • Sprecher & Schuh – Motor Starters, Relays and Contactors
    • Stahlin Brothers, Inc. – Fiberglass Enclosures

• OCTOBER 18, 1988

  Stephen W. Crognale, Sr. purchased Wistex and renamed it to Wistex II

  • First Location for Wistex II:
  • 619 Hampton Ave, Southampton, Pa 18966

  Stephen continued with the sale of component and process control systems through Wistex, however also began to evolve the company more into a distributorship / service company. He believed that if the people of Wistex could service everything they sold, the company would become a more valuable resource to its customers. This evolution still holds true to how Wistex is currently run. Not only does the company have the ability to sell products from top of the line manufacturers, but Wistex team members are also factory trained and certified to service the equipment.

  1988-2007 Wistex II, continued to be led by Stephen W. Crognale, Sr. The process control and component sales stayed strong as the service side of the company tremendously grew. Wistex soon became know as a service station for Variable Frequency Drives, both HVAC and Industrial, throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland.

  Wistex II moved to a larger location to allow for more warehouse space:

  • 1730 Stout Dr. Ste 1 & 2, Warminster, Pa 18974

• 2007-PRESENT

  Ownership transition: Nick and Christina Pittaoulis (Stephen's Daughter) 

  Nick and Christina Pittaoulis having been growing and evolving Wistex II to meet and exceed current market conditions and requirements. Through the years that Nick and Christina have led Wistex, the business changed very much and has grown to become a multi-million dollar Online Sale, Service and Distribution Company. This growth is due to hard work, education, being ahead of industry trends and having the very best group of people working together as Team Wistex!
